Oyoy, just got a new ID after having played the game. Love it, it's great. Just beat all 8 mavericks in Berserk difficulty with Delia, working on Plague next. I suppose if asked I can explain how I beat them all with Delia, but for now, well, no. Anyway, just want to congratulate Maelstormm on a great game, and check how other people do in the game. I don't know if this was brought up already, But I can't figure out the weaknesses of any of the bosses. Have they been programed in yet? Are they even supposed to have weaknesses?
I like the new vehicle levels, especially the beer truck!

Well, asking seemed dumb, and everyone else is giving away their boss strategies/reviews, so I don't need to. I felt I might as well give out awards for each maverick and stage, and the most prevalent enemy type in the stage. Oh, and I've finally beaten all 8 mavericks in Berserk with every character! Well, except for Sin, I sorta couldn't get past 4...
GORILLON Stage: Fastest paced. Enemy: Bear Trap. There are more of those than ravens, trust me. Boss: Most Unavoidable Attacks.
TERRA DRAKE Stage: Best Music. Enemy: Stalagmite. Well, it IS a cave. Boss: Most Air-Time (both boss and player).
HARBOR SERPENT Stage: Most Jumping Involved. Enemy: Bomb. It's a harbor facility, and apparently its receiving imports of bombs. Boss: Most Untimely Deaths.
LOCO LEAPER Stage: Shortest. Enemy: Bouncy Ball. Well, it fits with the Leaping theme, I suppose. Boss: Most Deceptive.
THUNDER GULL Stage: The "OH MY GOD IT HURTS SO MUCH!!!" Stage. Enemy: Helicopter Cannon. More flying enemies of death. Boss: Most Reminiscent of IRA's Tengu Man. (AKA a combination of the "OH MY GOD IT HURTS SO MUCH!!!" and the "STOP COMING FROM THE DIRECTION I'M DASHING AND MAKE UP YOUR MIND WHERE YOU'RE GONNA COME FROM!!!" awards)
RAM KNIGHT Stage: Most Enemies Killed. Enemy: Shield Flyer. We aren't counting the Goombadudes from the training room. They don't count. Boss: Most Annoying Comeback.
VOLCANO DRAKE Stage: Easiest. Enemy: Fireball. It matches the fiery surrounding. ;D Boss: Easiest.
TSUNAMI DRAKE Stage: Most Fun. Enemy: Warp Droid. Disappearing Blocks, Teleporting Boss, I sense a theme here. On a side note, the second best Money-Gaining spot is in this stage. In the second Underwater room, at the end, the four Warp Droids, if you enter from the right side, will warp behind your character, ALWAYS. If you have a sword or bite, just turn around and hack them to bits. Easy cash, and a lot less painful than the Battle Room. Boss: Hardest.
On a side note, are you planning on uploading the Heart Tanks at some point soon? I think I've found locations for all 8, and it'd be nice to see if there really is anything in these 8 spots.

Sorry for a lack of response recently, I was snowed in for 3 days in North Carolina on a airforce base while taking my friend back from his vacation It kinda set me back a little bit. The only big things left are the cutscenes & final 8 bosses. Shouldn't be to much longer, besides if the major videogame companies can set games back for years I can get away with a month or two ^_^ CruiserX : The weaknesses only apply for when X fights the bosses, but I haven't coded them in yet though. All of the other character's just need to brawl with the bosses. Glad you like the bonus levels, I'm still debating on adding bosses to them. citystars : I'm guesstimating Mid to Late February. Kinda depends on how my new schedule goes at work and how easy the bosses come together. Pineappler : Yup, there'll be 8 heart tanks ^_^ They are going to give you +4 life and either +1 or +2 to your weapon energy once they are implemented. [glow=red,2,300]Update 1/31 : The Weak Version has been updated to be current. Final bosses are coming along nicely.[/glow]

Well, I was just playing earlier, and I think I discovered a bug of some sorts. In Ram Knight's stage, there's one room that looks sorta like this ridiculously poor ASCII drawing: ---------------------------------------------------------------- + Ladder = Ground >>> or <<< Moving Platform 0=open space, it won't let me use plain spaces in this ---------------------------------------------------------------- 000+00000000000000000000000000000000000 000+00000000000000000000000000000000000 000+B000000000000000000000000000000+000 000+0000000000000000000000000000000+000 00000>>>00000000000000<<<0=======+000 00000000000000000000000000000000000+000 ==000000000000000000000000000000000+000 C0000000000000000000000000000000000+000 00000000000000000000000000000000000+000 00000000000000000000000000000000000+A00 00000000000000000000000000000000000+000 --------------------------------------------------------------- You start at the ladder at Point A (that is one crooked ASCII ladder...), and the exit is at the ladder at Point B. Yet, if you die, you spawn at Point B, rather than Point A. Meaning, instead of going through the moving platforms, you could just die and continue forward. On a side note, I think a Heart Tank may be located at point C, but that's just an assumption. Anyway, keep up the good work, I just felt like pointing out this bug/thing.

Hrmmm... oooopsy. I set the respawn X/Y wrong Back to the drawling board. Update 2/4 : The last 2 final bosses are done. They won't be uploaded since they contain spoilers. I'm definitely pushing flash's limit though, the 4th Final Boss is f***ing out of control big & strong. Now I can start making the story bosses ^_^

I like the game Maelstormm. Is very fun and very balanced in obstacles, baddies and the music.
And I'm thinking about an idea: It could have capsules for each character. 1 capsule per character

Welcome aboard ElecMan ^_^ But the capsule ideal wouldn't pan out in this version, it'd slow down quite a bit by adding 6 more characters (the powered up versions), then I'd also have to add new abilities which would drain the game's performance too There's always the chance for another game to have the feature though. The story boss for X's game is done now. 3 more to go and the game will be playable (with no cutscenes).

I was playing a little bit more of MMXN today and I was racing through the first two final levels, and then it hit me: Wade, you have designed the most diabolical, most evil AI in a computer game ever. Every single f*cking baddie in the entire game locks on to you and homes in on your position, and rather than having temporary invincibility when you get touched by an enemy, your life drains at twice the speed of sound!
I am still really excited about playing the game when it is finished, but f*ck you for making this so d*mn difficult!

Still hammering this thing out. The heart tanks are active now. They give you +4 life and +3 energy each. So once you have all 8, plus the Life & Energy sources you have a total of +50 life (1 bar) and +40 energy. SiC & SiN's story boss is being started now. Also the final stages are being decorated now ^_^ ElecMan : Sorry, I can't upload the demo publicly now since it has to many spoilers. It's a waiting game for everyone megaStryke : Hell yeah! I'm going to make the players earn their victory. Screw letting the baddies take a senseless whipping. Wait until you see the final 2 bosses + story bosses > Then to top it off, if anyone clears berserk and gets the code for the hidden bosses, then they will be in for 2 fights that will go down in the history books of platform games + megaman bosses. You do get a breif (very very brief) moment of invincibility when hit, but only by certain attacks. Many attacks are 'drain' attacks which continue doing damage while you touch them unless you are already invincible (Which is Sin's benefit). Technically, those areas with many enemies that you have to fight may count as miniboss areas...

I take it your saying that you've uploaded the Heart Tanks, but only to the version that ISN'T up, eh? Because I thought most of the places I assumed the Heart Tanks were were rather ingeniously placed, but there was nothing in ANY of them. So either you are even more devilish in your Heart Tank placement or you just don't have them in the public demo.
And keep the game as difficult as it is! I enjoy playing only Berserk (Hell on Earth I can't even beat Volcano Drake!), though I've not succeeded at beating that stupid 1st Fortress Boss with Delia yet... But I swear, I will get those fight codes before I try anything else once you upload the finished product!

Sorry ElecMan, the game's already kinda set I'm running into performance issues with what I have already (that's why the final stages run a bit slower than the normal ones). There will be other games (possibly more Mega ones) and I can try new things in them. X/Zero's story boss is done, and SiC/SiN's story boss is 70% done. I have many of the cutscenes drawn up but not colored. Also a good bit of compression to the code to try and help the performance. Lastly, megaStryke & Firehawk check your personal messages and respond please ^_^

Just curious, I remember that during the early versions of the demo, you had posted the Musics in the game. I happen to have forgot them all, besides the ones I can recognize (A Solitude That Asks Nothing In Return; Blue Water, Blue Sky; Chipp's Theme [forgot the name]; Knightman's Theme remix; Pharaohman's Theme remix). Could you, perhaps, post them again?

Goodness... the boss rematches. I forgot about those, and was half hoping I'd not have to worry about them. MOST of the bosses I can defeat fine, but a couple required both Life Recovers, so I think I'm gonna have to work on that...
