Wait, you mean you thought you "already" removed the intended, documented effect of one of her most important upgrades? I don't remember you mentioning that you were going to change that. Wade never updates the instructions page. He must think it'll be funny to LIE about what the upgrades do and be fun to swim through the flamemail.

- Prolly end up reworking Tami's energy consumption. - Gave Tami a new shot graphic for when she has the power+ item on, also made it do a smidgen more damage as well as boost the range. Reduced the duration of her saw attack a bit, just about 1/2'd the energy cost to use it. Next Update should have - - Roll's Queen outfit is done, working on Jazz's. Modified Roll's a bit from the Jaguar one. - Right now Roll, Jazz, Cyan, Tami have the first draft of their crusher animations in place. Still working on how to do Shin's/Kz10's. - Think I got rid of the load empty game error bug. One can only hope. - Found the bug that was making Cyan unable to activate her dash in either direction. Also the previously mentioned adjustments to her normal attacks being quickened and able to slide a lil' bit on the ground. - Gave CZ a final smidgen of kindness in her moves. Also have a few RA:Legends comics to upload once I'm readied. Suppose I should get around to updating the guide for RN too >.> So much for one brother to do...

Umm, why do YOU have to do the guide? Other than providing the correct numbers for the effects of the powerups, I can't see why you can't delegate that job to one of us.

Dunno why I have to do the guide. Just gotta make sure there's something up there.
All the things in the above post are done and jazz's queen outfit's in there. Working on getting the bonus stage icons to populate in the stages atm. Cyan's queen outfit is TeH suck since it's so different from her normal one and she has lots of frames.

Update 2/24/07 ================================ - Roll & Jazz have their Queen outfits running. - Czarina has been given a smidgen more kindness. - Gallery Menu is open now (nothing in it yet, but the menu works). - Roll/Jazz/Cyan/Tami have their crushers in place. - Save/Load system should be a bit more stable now. - Bonus file first draft is in place. You should be able to unlock Julia, Czarina and Crabette now. Keep in mind they haven't been revised yet though so I make no promises on their performance or the effects of playing the game as them >_> Also even though the gallery's and bonus stage items aren't functioning as the final plan of them is for, their data will be recorded so once the galleries are open any already qualified for should be available except Gallery 10. - New Game + feature is in effect, so for those who already have clear game data, you will be able to restart without losing all your powerups/outfits/BGM's etc.

Alright, new update finally!
Jazz's queen outfit is awesome. Fits her beautifully, very pretty. Roll's wings, however, need to be attached to her. Seriously. The only frame of animation where her wings don't look completely out of place is the running one, and that's just coincidence. Please, just make them part of her sprite rather than a second object following her and make them attached to her (and what were you thinking with the spinning thing when she jumps?). Roll herself looks pretty good (though you can guess the mental images it conjured, not that its a bad thing), and I like how you did her roll buster and running sprites.
If Cz's been toned down, I can't tell. She's still totally kickass final boss material and seems even harder than last time I played.
The crushers seem kinda sloppy and silly and they don't feel like they belong. You probably ought to make them look more like the rest of the game, like in MMXN, where they used the same character sprite in the same part of the screen performing a move to a temporarily different background without moving from his spot so he's still there when it ends (except plague's, but even his started with the sprite and it looked so cool it doesn't matter, and Delia's, which still started like that I think). At the very least keep it in the same artistic style and the same bittage. For example, Jazz's would probably look more appropriate if she pointed forward and yelled and a swarm of generic flying Wilybots (of the correct bittage) swarmed past, and for Tami's she should perhaps shoot something upward and then have a rain of ice shards or something. All with the background replaced one color plus the crusher effect so we don't notice that nobody else is moving.
Wouldn't it be more useful if New Game+ let you restart as ANOTHER character? That would be extremely useful since there's more characters than save slots, but I can't picture any use for this way.
If you wouldn't mind, could you make it so the debug mode keys still let you fight a boss after beating them instead of "skipping the repeat boss"? It'd be very handy both testing and having fun. For instance, I just found a bug where certain attacks still work while frozen by Tami (including Roll's primary attack and Jazz's secondary), and I want to test it for everything, but this makes it so cumbersome I'm not prone to bother (having to restart the game every fight).
I notice you implemented letting Cyan "slide" while attacking. While a nice sentiment, it's spoiled by the fact that if you slide backwards your next punch will be pointed behind you rather than in front where the enemy is, and the sliding is only necessary in the first place if the enemy you're fighting takes multiple hits to kill. The only way the sliding will be useful if you make it so that once you start punching she won't turn around until you let go of the button.
By the way, having to perform a regular punch and then an aux punch is a bit cumbersome, since in the default control scheme both of those buttons are pushed by the same finger. Could you unjoin them? Even if it making it take longer to perform an aux attack was intended to help balance it I think streamlining the control scheme there is worth it. Both punches are the same damage anyways.
Jazz's "sheild" is still way overpowered. I had a marathon battle with the final boss as Roll with the queen outfit, losing several times before finally beating her, and then I when I did it with Jazz it was a cinch because of how powerful the aux attack is. Same with Citadel (to a lesser extent, since she's easier).
How exactly do you "unlock" characters? Beating the game and then refreshing certainly doesn't do it.
By the way, I'm gonna take the liberty of starting the strategy guide in the spoiler thread. Feel free to make it official or not, but if you do give me at least a line at the bottom.

Final Stage should still work. You should still be able to trussle back to fighting Tami as much as you'd like, as well as the other 6. Czarina and Citadel, though, with that, it may be considered to have that option, yes. Though I haven't seen about those two.

But I don't want to have to beat 6 bosses every time I want to fight a given boss either. The idea behind debug keys is that by making it very easy to repeat the part that needs testing or debugging (which is obviously going to be 7 times as likely to be the boss as anything else) you make it much easier to finish testing quickly and work whatever it is out.
By the way, Wade, you think you could stick some guide arrows in the second half of Cz's level on those blind drops? I've got the level practically memorised, but most people won't and the fact is a fall where you're supposed to land under the hole and where you have to land to the right of the hole look the same until far too late to avoid pissing people off, especially that far into that hard of a level. Just label the things with arrows (hell, you labeled the last one where there's just fan blades but not the ones where you can fall off the bottom of the screen).

I like Roll's wings like that though, has a flair of difference like Yumeria or so.
CZ mainly had a very slight reduction in her tracking fireball frequency and like a .25 speed reduction in her descent from the crusher.
Crusher's are aimed to be more of a cutscene than a game scene so they used the same graphic. Then there's the ongoing toss up between quality vs filesize. I think Jazz's needs the most work, but the other's ain't bad.
New Game + is just there primarily to let people who beat the game replay it to get the newer additions unlocked that weren't in it before without losing all the stuff you grinded for already. Not really to make anything special happen otherwise.
I could prolly figure out a way to make the boss fight keys reset that boss' status so you can rematch'm. Take some work though.
Cyan's sliding's mainly to keep her out of harm's way more so than letting her bust combo's in reverse. Aux attacks should hit 1 point harder I believe after last revision before this one.
Jazz's shield is pretty tough like cyan's uppercut, but it should lose a lot of it's punch on higher difficulties with less energy available to spam it with. Can give a review again though.
To unlock character's you need to beat the game on Normal (Julia), Frantic (Czarina) and Apologize (Crabette). After beating the final boss, go through the ending scene (haven't tested it yet with using the skip button) and then save your game. Character's and Stages obtained only get updated when you save the game. Galleries save upon completing the game on normal after going through the character's ending (except gallery 10). No need to save in the case of galleries.
Guide arrows are for the kind gentle authors out there who care for players lives. Not this little author though, no sir. Plummet to your robotic doom! Muwhahahahahaaaaa... burp.

That's why there's a New Game + option now. If you've already cleared the game you can't unlock her now since you must view the ending to trigger it. With the New Game + you at least keep all the things you bought when you restart so you can qualify and unlock her.

oh, so you added it in. Czarinas crusher is painfully obvious now I think. Then again, that was when she did from the top of the screen. (Barely made the next tim she did it...)
On another note, using cyans dash attack to go through cyans (boss) dash attack looks really cool. XD Or any powerful boss attack, like kz's power gun.
Juila's main attack is awkward, if you press the attack button too fast it does nothing. Julia also starts with czarina's stage open as well.
Edit: I got past Czarina on frantic! XD another edit: For Kz's crusher, you could have her talk on a radio and then have the mech come in guns blazing. just an idea.
I got to the final stage and I'm stuck on jazz? I beat hew on her stage with no power-ups either >.>
Is kz supposed to fire her gun 4 times in a row?>.>

Wade, there's making things harder, and there's trial and error. We (I at least) love you for making stuff hard. Nobody, NOBODY, likes trial and error.
Besides, you put guide arrows in Punchman's stage.
edit: Oh, and for the final boss: If you're stuck with Jazz, your best friend will be the happy rings (aka sheild). That's how you overcome her regeneration. Aside from that, you're gonna want to stay as close as you can manage to her so that you'll deal more damage, and keep in mind that happy hearts (special attack--is it a bad sign that I'm referring to them by name?) can do considerable damage at point blank (at least more than your regular attack). Outfit yourself with power, special and dash upgrades for maximum damage output too. Remember: The only way to kill the final boss is to deal damage way faster than she can heal for a long time without being killed. If you're not hurting her faster than she regenerates, you're gonna lose as surely as if you're not dodging her attacks.
By the way: Wade, please say yay or nay on me writing the strategy guide. I won't go any further until you do.

Er..... I meant I was stuck on jazz..... in the rematches. I'm using roll. o.o
I can get past her, but she's the one I have the most trouble with. The main problem is when she rams me with said aux attack. and using a stomp 3 times in a row. Help with roll against Cz would be nice. I did discover a way to tack on damage. if your close enough when she uses the magnetic pull, she does the burst attack. step away a little and fire some more for some extra damage.
I beat the game on frantic! woohoo! While julia starts with czarinas stage unlocked, czarina starts with the finale stage unlocked!

Yeah, Jazz and KZ are in a bitter war for the coveted title of "hardest normal boss" in this game, though Jazz certainly will be the one Wade will describe for all time as his most "hated" boss from the game. And Roll has no real strong points fighting Jazz, as she is far too jumpy (Roll's best way of dealing damage is to go all out on the boss while they're on the ground or to charge and then fire as soon as the boss stands still to make an attack, but Jazz almost never sits still). I think if you stand close to her when she's deciding what to do she's more likely to try to shoot the three hearts (not the dropping hearts, the other ones), which is the only move in her repertoire that gets her to sit still at all; that'd be a pretty good time to pummel her as long as you then dash out of the way at the last second (and heck, it's a fairly weak attack if you don't make it).

Speaking of Kz, she instant killed me with all 3 hits of the power gun after I jumped over the first round. ouch.
playing as Czarina actually seems pretty weak, without an aux. the special attack isn't really helping either.

Well, one thing that would help would be if you could give me a straight list of the girls ranked in order of base speed/jump height, since trying to put them in order empirically is tricky. And any similar notes on the characters which I would not necessarily notice just playing normally (for instance, I didn't know the thing about Tami's recovery time until I heard someone mention it). And you could update the help page, since noone else knows the exact numbers (it still says Cyan has a wall cling and doesn't contain aux attacks).
By the way, Citadel's desperation move is bugged. The platforms only do what they're supposed to half the time and the other half they keep going up as normal, and even if you get on them in time (which is before they're supposed to even appear) multiple times I had them go off the top right before she came back onscreen (but too late for another to appear in time), leaving me with absolutely no way to not instantly die unless I was playing as Cyan or Tami. A bug that instakills you arbitrarily when you're near beating a lategame boss isn't fun.
As a side note, I've noticed I've altogether stopped using Cyan's special attack. I don't have numbers, but it seems to do less damage than it used to before the aux attack, and the aux attack pushes it out of its territory. I think I'm actually hurting bosses more with a well placed aux move than a special attack because of the uppercut's trajectory, and it's cheaper. By this point all I use the special attack for is an emergency half second of invincibility or if I'm getting impatient waithing for dash to recharge. edit: By the way, last I checked those weren't supposed to make you immune to level hazards, but they work on the Roll stage's lightning. And you might want to take another look at the pause menu help text for Cyan's attacks, which is wrong about how to execute them.

Bug report! when I chose the crab defenders of the universe thing, I get sent back to the first page of areas..... But my character magically morphs into roll! I suppose I shouldn't be messing around with the extras yet, but still, that is pretty interesting.
Another thing you could probably tell for the guide is the exact boosts the upgrades give the girls. most of them are probably still the same, but small things such as the small attack boost tami's power upgrade now gives her, and the effect dash has on the whole aux attack arsenal would be good to add in. and the effects of the dresses (if they do anything other than adding a heart, and adding a recharge.)

Actually, if you checked the spoilers thread (don't worry, there's nothing really spoily there) you'd see that Wade HAS given us a quantitative list of the differences in the girls' mobilities and recovery times (though what "+1" translates without a starting number to put it in context is a bit hard to guess), the exact damage and cost of every attack and move, and yes, the exact effect of the upgrades. As for the outfits, they all give one extra heart of the respective thing and regeneration (or increased regeneration, for dash) when under one heart, and queen does the same for all three. edit: The queen also gives you increased crusher recharge.
